Summer Reading

Wild Reads @ Your Library, July 1st to August 12th, All Ages Welcome! Sponsored by the Eldredge Public Library, the Friends of the EPL, the Massachusetts Regional Library Systems, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, the 2008 Statewide Summer Reading Adventure, Wild Reads @ your library, offers a variety of activities and events for children, teens and families of all ages throughout July and August that will showcase just how wild we are about the Eldredge Public Library! The goals of the Statewide Summer Reading Program are many: to celebrate recreational reading, to build upon and reinforce the skills acquired during the school year, to foster a life-long love of books, reading and libraries, and to recognize the vital role the public library plays in communities throughout Massachusetts. Wild Reads @ your library highlights the extraordinary ability of books and libraries to transport us to new and exciting places and to introduce us to topics both fresh and familiar, real or imagined – all you need is a library card! This year’s program celebrates reading adventures for the independent reader and the read-to-me participant with reading efforts translating to books for our own library! Participants who complete the summer reading program will have a book added to the EPL collection in their name. Registration for the 2008 Statewide Summer Reading Adventure will begin immediately following our kick-off celebration with Johnny the K.
