Ways to Give

Although we are a public library, and as such receive substantial funding from the Town of Chatham, nevertheless every year about half of the funds required to meet our operating budget must come from private donations. This requires about $200,000 of non-governmental funding yearly. Continuing financial support from individuals and businesses is therefore utterly critical to maintain the quality of our services.

The private funds come from three sources:

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund, which is conducted each fall among nearly 10,000 past, present and prospective donors. The funds it raises are used for the Library's daily operations.

To contribute to the Annual Fund you may Download a donor card and mail it to the library along with a check to:

Eldredge Public Library

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library raises funds by events throughout the year and a membership drive each summer. The funds it raises are used for special equipment and projects such as the youth programs.

Please make your check payable to Friends of EPL; include your name and address, and email address and mail to:

The Endowment Fund

The Endowment Fund provides a stream of income that is required to fill the gap that remains even with the funds from all other sources.

You may mail your donations to the Endowment Fund to:

Eldredge Public Library

Chatham, MA 02633

Gifts made through any of these vehicles can be in cash or stock; gifts to the Endowment Fund can also be in the form of future gifts such as bequests by will or trust.
