CLAMS Access and Special Services
CLAMS is the "Cape Libraries Automated Material Sharing" network which serves all of the libraries on the Cape and the Islands and provides all users with convenient and consistent access to these libraries both from terminals inside the libraries or from their home computers via the internet.

With your CLAMS card you can....
- Search for books at any of the CLAMS libraries.
- Check which items you have out.
- Renew items that you have out.
- Reserve library material.
- See if you owe any fines.
- Review your requests and delete any existing requests.
-- all without talking to a librarian! All you need is a CLAMS Card and your own P.I.N.
Here Is How To Get Started
First get your CLAMS card and your PIN (Personal Identification Number) at the library or download the CLAMS adult or juvenile registration forms online, complete, sign, and return them to the library.
Go to the CLAMS Catalog.
From the opening page, click on View My Account Enter your name, clams card number and your pin number and click Submit.
From here you can make changes, such as renew items or delete requests.
Click on Search the Catalog.
- Choose your search method (title, author, subject, etc)
- Enter your search (* Remember to enter an author name with the last name first.)
- You can limit the search to any one library or leave it at all locations. If an item is available at another library, it can be sent to Chatham for pick up.
Once you have found the item you want, click the Request button on the tool bar. You will need to enter a pick up location, then click Submit. From here you can continue searching or log out.

CLAMS CARDS:
Your CLAMS card may be used at any of the CLAMS libraries listed below to check out materials or use their resources.
LIBRARY POLICIES:
Policies may vary at each CLAMS library, so check with your local librarian for specific information regarding reserves, renewals, loan periods, fines, etc.
RETURNS:
All materials borrowed from CLAMS libraries, may be returned to any member library.
OVERDUES AND FINES:
CLAMS libraries reserve the right to deny charge-out privileges to anyone who has library material overdue from any CLAMS library.
CARD REPLACEMENT:
You are responsible for your CLAMS card.
A replacement fee will be charged.
