The Friends of the Eldredge Public Library are sponsoring  "Serenades & Stories" performed on period instruments by the American Baroque Orchestra.   The concert is Sunday, July 8th at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church (corner of Main and Cross Street, across from the Library).  Tickets are on sale now at the library front desk.  General admission $20.00; Reserved seating $30.00.  If you are reserving your ticket by mail, please send in your check with this form.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Mark Bailey, the music will be performed on period instruments by The American Baroque Orchestra.  The performance will include "Summer" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons with virtuoso violinist Edson Scheid, baroque era opera including "Tornami a vagheggiar" from Handel's Alcina with spellbind ing soprano, Kathryn Aaron, a suite from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro and more!

Experience the inspiration of great and beloved musical gems alongside their literary counterparts, tracing back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Musical Gems of the Literary Agefeatures music from The American Baroque Orchestra and narration from western and eastern Europe, with works by Handel, Purcell, Russian/Ukrainian court composers, among others. Throughout the program, members of the orchestra will narrate the music with excerpts from popular French romances, operatic plot lines, Italian poetry, and more!
